The moment everyone has been waiting for! The Frank & Oak Blazer Review!!
Alright, so this may look familiar to everyone who have been following me since the summer and before. For the most part I have really good luck with the internet, but when it goes wrong, it goes real wrong. This is one of those times.
I’m gonna get all the negatives out of the way first, and there are really only 2, but they are fuckin’ huge. The first is obvious, I don’t know what the fuck is going on, but there is no way this is a 40R. To be honest 40Rs are always a tiny bit short on me 1-3 inches, most of the time wearable, but this is easily the shortest R blazer ever. The top button is above my rib cage and the arms are like Thom Browne gone wrong. I honestly can’t see this fitting anyone well who is not under 5’8” and even then it will be not quite long enough. I’m really having a hard time imagining the person that this fits, cause I’m 6’4” and the shoulders, body and arm holes are the best fitting I’ve ever worn, but then it’s just really short. Someone as broad as me, but a foot shorter. This shit absolutely wack.
The other thing is the shoulders, it’s a structured blazer. This isn’t necessarily bad thing when done well, but there in lies the rub. Look at those shoulders, they don’t look natural, there is a large hump and it’s just too obviously structured. Take into consideration that this blazer is 50$ though, and the shoulders aren’t really that bad for 50$.
OTHER THAN THAT it’s a very very very nice blazer for 50$. The wool is actually really nice and soft, and there are insane details you’d never find on a blazer sub 100$. The contrast lining is beautiful, there is pick stitching all along the blazer, even on the patch pockets, and it has functional button holes. I really recommend this to any short stockier guys out there, finally short people have a reason to live.
Don’t completely dismiss Frank & Oak yet, I have yet to hear or witness any of their products, we just now know that we were right, a 50$ blazer is too good to be true.
